Yellow Brick Road update

From the end of October 2024 until Spring 2025, improvement works will take place on the Yellow Brick Road, which connects to the Fallowfield Loop.

This will consist of resurfacing from just south of the Alston Road entrance to the entrance at Ashton Canal.

We will improve twenty-five entranceways. This will help people with prams, wheelchairs, and cargo bikes.

The aim of this work is to:

  • Make the route more appealing and accessible to more users. Widen and resurface paths. Improve entrances. Enhance lighting, signage, and plants.
  • Use the improved Fallowfield Loop to connect Chorlton to Debdale Park. Also improving the Yellow Brick Road from Debdale Park to the Ashton Canal/Sport City/Philips Park.
  • Be part of a green corridor forming part of a wider nature network connecting green spaces from the Mersey Valley, across south Manchester via Fallowfield, Levenshulme, Gorton and Openshaw to the Ashton Canal and Medlock Valley beyond.

Maps can be downloaded below showing the exact locations of the resurfacing and entranceway improvement works.
