Application and guidance notes

Once you have started the application process your application will not be saved unless you complete it. If you do not complete your application, or use the browsers navigation buttons instead of the 'Previous' button, your application will be lost and you will need to start again.

The following information will be requested as part of your application so have this ready before you start: 

  • Companies House pages showing the address of the company and the named Director/s
  • Planning permission or a document confirming it is not required
  • Fare Tariff
  • Public liability insurance if there is a public waiting room

You will also need the following for each person named in the application this will include a company secretary where a limited company is involved:

  • Contact details.  This is Mandatory.
  • National Insurance No.  This is Mandatory.
  • Employment history for the last 5 years.  This is Mandatory
  • Immigration status - right to work - passport and/or Home Office code to check your right to work.
  • Digital photograph of each Director
  • Basic DBS for each DIrector
  • Statutory Declaration for each DIrector
  • Tax check code

If the application is for a non-standard operator licence you will also need to submit a business plan in addition to the items above.

Payment must be made online as part of the application process.  Your application will not be processed until payment is made.

Information provided by registered companies will be made available to the public via the public register, including the company name, contact address and contact telephone numbers.

Right to work in the UK

Following the submission of your application and associated documents, all applicants/directors/secretaries will be invited to attend an interview with a licencing officer to verify ‘right to work documents’ as it is a requirement to be seen in person.
