Eastlands Community Sport Plan
What is the Eastlands Community Sport Plan?
New East Manchester, Manchester City Council and Manchester City Football Club are working together to develop the Eastlands Regeneration Framework (a strategic plan which sets the vision for the area).
The Eastlands Community Sport Plan is a crucial part of the Framework which reviews existing community and elite sports provision and seeks to enhance the community sport offer.
East Manchester sports facilities currently consist of The National Cycling Centre, The City of Manchester Stadium, Manchester Regional Arena, Manchester National Squash Centre, Manchester Tennis and Football Centre, Ten Acres Leisure Centre, Belle Vue Leisure Centre and Regional Hockey Centre, Manchester Regional Gymnastics Centre, Wright Robinson College, Sporting Edge, Miles Platting Swimming Pools, and the new sports facilities on Grey Mare Lane (The East Manchester Academy).

The Eastlands Community Sport Plan will seek to build on the existing sports provision, bring new opportunities to the local community and fill gaps in current provision in order to:

    ·   Maximise community participation and engagement;

    ·
Develop Eastlands and East Manchester as a global destination for sport and major events.

In this document, the term ‘sport’ covers all forms of physical activity which, through casual or organised participation, aim at expressing or improving physical fitness and well-being, forming social relationships or obtaining results in competition at all levels.

The Eastlands Community Sport Plan affects you, so we want you to have your say and to know what you think is important.

The end date for this consultation is Thursday 30 June.
