The Gorton Hub is a brand new learning, health and community hub that brings together a range of different services under the same roof. This allows people to access different support networks much more easily, while also creating new community space, in a modern and low carbon building.
Services
- Library – offer a warm and friendly space with free to use books, ICT and community activities such as Storytime and Age Friendly hour. The Library also has two community rooms for community groups and activities. Open+ members can access the library unsupervised and access a whole range of online books, magazines, audio books and more.
- Jobcentre Plus - resources to enable job-searchers to find work, provides information about training opportunities and administers claims for benefits such as Universal Credit.
- Manchester Adult Education Services (MAES) - offers a range of Adult Education courses in English, Maths, ESOL and ICT and more
- One Manchester - offer a whole range of support including employment, skills, literacy, digital support, and enterprise services for One Manchester residents.
- Gorton Medical Centre - provides modern and well-equipped General Practice solutions to a whole range of health care needs for new patients and old.
- Manchester Local Care Organisation - community based health care and clinic support service including Health Visitors, district nursing, podiatry and physiotherapy. There's a new integrated health and social care team working together to meet the needs of the local community. They work closely with Gorton Medical Practice to ensure you are getting the care you need where you need it.

- Pharmacy (opening date to be confirmed).
The building opened in November 2022 and continues to grow with the neighbourhood. Working closely with:
- the family hub,
- the Oasis centre,
- Gorton Central,
- Manchester Settlement,
- Hideout: youth zone,
- local schools and VCSE organisations
to provide a holistic offer to the people that live nearby. The hub also hosts the Bread and butter thing every Friday 11am to 1pm.
Activities
The Hub hosts activities and events in the Atrium that cover Global, National and Local campaigns such as:
- Black History Month,
- Mental Health awareness week,
- Pride,
- UNICEF's Child Friendly City,
- job fairs,
- health checks and so much more.
There is something for everyone at the Hub.
Opening times
The Hub itself will be open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 5pm on Saturdays, but there are a range of services with varied opening times. Please contact the individual services to check specific opening hours.
The library, Manchester Adult Education Service, the Neighbourhood health and social care teams, Jobcentre Plus and Gorton Medical Centre are all operating from the site on a daily basis with the opportunity for new developments available.
The Hub will be closed to the public on Bank Holidays.
Bikes, scooters and skateboards are not allowed in the Hub, with the exception of wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
Dogs are not allowed in the Hub, with the exception of guide dogs and support dogs.

The hub is on Hyde Road at the junction with Whitewell Way. The address is Gorton Hub, 27 Garratt Way, M18 8HE.
