Looking forward
Looking ahead
The project has always been about more than creating a functional workspace for the council to deliver its services.
A massive part of what we are doing will open the building up for the people of Manchester, with everything it has to offer. From the tremendous architecture, the beautiful decorative finishes, the artworks, artefacts and collections, to the new Town Hall Story exhibition, which will tell the narrative of the Town Hall in a way that is as relevant today as it has always been to the people and spirit of Manchester.
At the same time as bringing the building into the 21st century we’re creating a significant social and economic legacy, with a real drive to create opportunities for work and learning for local people and businesses. Every contractor on site is picking up the baton for Social Value too, and we've been thrilled by the pride and passion that is shared by everyone working on site; from the youngest and most inexperienced apprentices to the time served craftspeople and professional consultants, who all want to be a part of that legacy.
