What is happening and when
Work will start on 5 August at the following junctions:
- Deansgate / Quay Street / Peter Street
- Deansgate / Whitworth Street West
- Chester Road / Great Jackson Street
All traffic will be restricted to a southbound direction only between the junctions of Quay Street / Peter Street and Liverpool Road / Great Bridgewater Street. There will still be access for cyclists in both directions. We expect this work to last until approximately spring 2025.
At 9pm on 6 August, road resurfacing work will take place between Quay Street and Great Bridgewater Street. It will finish at 4am the next day - all noisy work will be completed by 11.30pm at the latest. The work will last for three evenings and mornings and will make this stretch of road easier to use during the construction work.
