Work under way to install new Ashton Canal Bridge
Work has begun on a new bridge over the Ashton Canal, designed to make it easier to walk and cycle in the area. The bridge will enable residents north of the canal, at Old Mill Street and the Marina to access the Metrolink tram stop at New Islington Green. The bridge will also provide a useful crossing for the various new developments in the area.
During construction, a signed diversion will be in place. The New Islington tram stop will remain in operation.
