Additional Support for Care Leavers

As part of its response to the rising cost of living, the Government is once again funding a Household Support Fund.

The Government has announced that the fourth phase of Household Support Fund payments should be used to support households most in need; particularly those that were not eligible for other Government support, such as the Cost-of-Living Payments. For more information on the other cost of living support available, see the Government's Cost of Living Hub.

One of the priority groups identified for this fund are care experience young people and so if you're a Care Leaver:

  • You could get £8 every week whilst funding is available, from April to September 2024, to help top up your income if you're living in your own home.

The Leaving Care Service are already passing this fund to lots of our young people however if you have any further queries about how to apply for the fund if you are not already receiving this, please speak to your Personal Advisor.

If you are no longer working 1:1 with a Personal Advisor, please contact the Care Leavers Community Hub.
