Heaton Park event community consultation group

The voice of local residents is important to what we do here at Heaton Park, especially when organising major events. We want to make sure that the local community are informed and feel that their views are heard.

The Heaton Park Event Community Consultation Group (HPECCG) is a condition of the premises licence for the park. The group is made up of residents, councillors, council staff, and partners from Manchester, Bury and Rochdale councils.

The group works to lessen the impact of events at the park. It helps form realistic proposals to address those impacts, and meets before and after each major park event. The group does not have any statutory or legal authority to object or deny event applications. Instead, it gives genuine opportunities to consult with local people.

The role of group members

The members are representatives for the areas they live in. They bring local people's concerns to the meetings, and give feedback to them.
