We want to hear from passionate people from across Manchester. We want to create a new forum. It will be made up of people who reflect the diversity of Manchester. We want new faces and voices. They'll join conversations and share opinions. They'll influence decisions. Decisions that affect you, your family, friends and your community.   

We're looking for 16 people. As a member, you'll work with the Making Manchester Fairer Programme Board. You'll help review plans and ensure they meet the needs of Manchester residents. 

This opportunity is only open to Manchester residents.  Please check your postcode is in the area covered by Manchester City Council.

 About Making Manchester Fairer (MMF)   

MMF is Manchester City Council's plan to tackle health inequalities in our city. Some people have fewer opportunities and even die earlier. We want to change that.

Below is a list of groups, or descriptions, that you may see yourself as part of, or identify with.  There could be more than one. 

  • Age 
  • Disabilities and long-term health conditions (including mental health and neurodiversity) 
  • Faith, religion and belief 
  • Sex , gender identity/reassignment 
  • Marriage and civil partnerships 
  • Race 
  • Pregnant people and maternity 
  • Sexual orientation 
  • Children, families, and others living in poverty 
  • Carers with caring responsibilities, care-leavers, and care-experienced young people 
  • Homeless people 
  • Ex-Armed Forces members and their families  

Responsibilities 

  • Attend monthly in-person Community Forum meetings 
  • Participate in discussions and workshops 
  • Provide feedback based on your personal knowledge and experience 

Reward and recognition

  • £12 per hour participation fee 
  • Option to donate participation fee to a local organisation 
  • Reimbursement of travel, childcare, and other reasonable expenses 
  • Additional support for accessibility needs 
  • Personal and professional development opportunities.
