We have a responsibility for the health of the people of Manchester. As part of this, we support and advise health and social care organisations and the public by promoting good infection control practice in line with national standards, by:
- providing specialist advice and training on infection prevention and control and decontamination
- providing infection control audits to support Health and Social Care providers, enabling them to meet regulatory standards in line with legislation
Key national infection prevention and control guidance and policy documents, relevant to all providers of community care:
- Infection: Prevention and control of healthcare-associated infections in primary and community care (NICE)
- Health and Social Care Act 2008: Code of Practice on the prevention and control of infections and related guidance
