Technical information about this website’s accessibility
Manchester City Council is committed to making its websites accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
These websites are partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliance(s) listed below.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reason(s):
Form input fields
Some form input fields (such as to submit the opening and closing hours of establishments) don't give enough context to screen reader users. The supplier (Arcus Global) are developing a fix within the next 12 months.
Text areas within some forms
If a question uses a ‘text area’ input (i.e. a box for multiple sentences to be entered), screen readers read out the question three times. The supplier (Arcus Global) has added this into their road map for future development.
Upload button
When using a screen reader and keyboard navigation, focus order lands on the back button on a page first. A user has to tab backwards to upload a document, and when the upload button does receive focus, it doesn't give enough context. The supplier (Arcus Global) has added this into their road map for future development.
Maps
Maps (and the information displayed on them) are not picked up in full by assistive technology, for example key elements such as magnification and points of interest. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 Non-text content
Missing language
Value of language attribute is not included in the list of valid languages. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.1.1 Language of page
