Climate change is one of the most urgent issues facing us today and leaves no corner of the planet untouched. It's clear from the increasing floods, wildfires and other weather-related disasters that the effects are taking place right now.
In response to this global issue, Manchester set the ambitious target in 2018 of becoming a zero carbon city by 2038.
If you organise events in the city, use our guides to review your activity, share good practice and help to make Manchester zero carbon by 2038.
Event organisers, suppliers, service providers and venues can download sustainable events guides for:
- major outdoor events
- small outdoor events
- indoor events
- community events
- food and drink traders
- production suppliers
- waste and cleansing services
- reusable cups at events
Email sustainable-events@manchester.gov.uk if you need accessible versions of the guides, or if you have any queries, comments or good practice that you would like to share.
If your organisation is in the creative, arts and cultural sector, read the Zero Carbon Culture guide for guidance on reducing carbon emissions.
We have developed these guides with Julie’s Bicycle, an internationally recognised expert in the field of creative industries and climate action.
