If your blue badge application is rejected
You can appeal in writing if your application has been refused within the last 12 weeks. Appeals will only be considered if they are received by 4pm within 12 weeks of receipt of the refusal letter.
You will need to give your reasons for appeal. You will need to include supporting information from a health or social care professional which gives evidence for your difficulty walking. Letters from GPs cannot be accepted unless accompanied by information from another source.
Details of how to appeal will be given in the letter informing you that your application has been refused.
Your appeal will be reviewed by a manager. We aim to respond with reasons for our decision, within 28 days of receipt of the appeal. If your application is still refused you have the right to make a second appeal, in writing, which should be made within 10 days of the first appeal decision. This will be reviewed at a more senior level.
If your condition worsens, you can apply again after three months.
