Proposed changes

Manchester City Council has worked with councillors and residents to extend the operating times of the existing parking scheme near the Etihad Stadium to every day, from 12 noon to 11pm, and to also include more of the surrounding streets. There are some aspects of the scheme that we wish to change, which will provide more parking space for businesses, residents and their visitors, while still restricting parking by visitors to events at the football stadium as well as the new Co-Op Live Arena.

We now need to gather your opinion on these changes.

The changes we are proposing are:

  • Removal of double yellow lines outside residential properties
  • More streets to be marked as ‘Residents only parking past this point’, where only permit holders (including your visitors) may park during the hours of the scheme (12 noon to 11pm)
  • Placing more parking bays – these allow non-permit holders to park for 90 minutes, but permit holders can park for as long as required

Residents within the scheme are eligible for free permits for every vehicle registered at their address, two free visitor permits and a book of 10 ‘day use’ permits, all of which are free.

Find out if your street is included in the scheme.
