Consultations and surveys Mancunian Way Speed Reduction consultation

Consultation outcome

After collating all the results and comments from the consultation, the different options were reviewed and considered. The result of the review was that plans should be progressed to reduce speed on the Mancunian Way to 30mph.

The Mancunian Way has special road status - which means it requires approval from the Department for Transport (DfT) before being permanently reduced to 30mph. Within our application for approval, all results of the consultation will be presented to DfT, providing them with a full picture of what is being proposed, why and all comments and objections we have received.  The ultimate approval to change the road to 30mph will be provided by the DfT.

We thank everyone for commenting and engaging with the consultation. The application will be made once this 6-week TRO consultation is over.

The Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) process, which is a legal consultation, will start on 17 July 2024 for 6 weeks.
