Consultations and surveys Making Ancoats Streets quieter and safer follow-up consultation

Other updates

Ancoats Resident Parking Scheme

This is something which we know people in the area have wanted for some time, to protect parking for local residents and businesses, made difficult by commuters parking in the area and walking into the city centre for work, or in the evening for the night-time economy. We are now progressing initial designs for a scheme, and hope to be ready to share them and consult on this in early 2024.

Blossom Street

Finally, following the successful trial under an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order (ETRO) of filters on Blossom and Hood Street, this will now go through the statutory consultation process with a view to being made permanent in November 2023. This will involve the standard process, with an advert in the Manchester Evening News and notices on lamp posts locally.

We are working together behind the scenes to make sure that all of these different activities to make Ancoats’ streets quieter and safer are fully co-ordinated.  If you have any queries or concerns around any of the plans for the area, please email ancoats@manchester.gov.uk
