These priorities are about raising people’s incomes. Pathways out of poverty will look different for different people. We will tailor services for residents who may need additional support by working with the organisations that are best placed to help them.
Help residents on low income to maximise their household income
We will support residents to make sure they are getting the full range of benefits and financial support they are entitled to. We will help those residents who can work get more secure and better paid employment.
Increase the number of good quality employment opportunities in Manchester
We will work with employers to sign up to the Good Employment Charter, which improves employment standards in Manchester. We will continue to work with employers to increase the number of Manchester residents being paid the real living wage.
