Learning with MAES
At Manchester Adult Education, our tutors are here to help you learn and succeed. We want you to feel supported during your time with us and we offer as much assistance as possible to make your learning as easy as possible.
Learning Support
We believe that learning should be accessible for everyone, that everyone is unique, and some people may require additional support. This is why we have a dedicated Learning Support team who are available to provide personalised support to help you reach your full potential. Find out more about learning support at MAES.
Financial Support
Most of our courses are free (subject to eligibility). Your eligibility will be assessed an an assessment and enrolment appointment.
We can also support learners in other ways including the following:
- Travel: If you live more than two miles away from the centre that your course is being taught at, we can help with your transport costs.
- Childcare: If you're the parent or carer to children under the age of three, who are not in school, we may be able to help with the cost of childcare while you attend the course.
- DBS: If you're studying a course with us and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for your work placement, we can help you pay for it.

Safeguarding
We take the safeguarding of our learners seriously. An important part of the work that we do at MAES is to provide learners with the support and information they need to deal with situations that put their wellbeing at risk, whether that's at one of our adult learning centres or in external environments.
