- Problem on the Manchester ship canal: contact the Manchester Ship Canal Company
- Problem on the Bridgewater canal: contact the Bridgewater Canal Company
- Problem on Ashton canal or Rochdale canal: contact the Canal & River Trust
- Problem on railway land: contact Network Rail
