Nature and biodiversity
Across the UK, biodiversity is on the decline. Here in Manchester, some areas have abundant nature while others have very little. We want to limit the decline and enhance green spaces in our city.
To do this, we have a green and blue infrastructure strategy. It covers the whole city and sets demanding goals for us. We also developed a tree-capacity study.
There's still plenty to do at a local-level. This is where our ward climate change action plans come in.
Our aims:
- To work with all stakeholders to enhance and protect green spaces in Manchester
- To support residents and friends groups for parks and green spaces
