Britain in Bloom inspires community groups in towns, cities and villages to make positive changes to their areas through horticultural (gardening), environmental and community action.
If you wish to improve a space in your area, our Manchester In Bloom team can help by:
- Offering advice
- Supplying plants and bulbs
- Helping with planting
- Putting you in touch with volunteers
- Accessing funding
- Help to enter the regional and national Britain In Bloom competition.
It is hoped In Bloom projects can help residents with:
- A stronger sense of pride of place, which can help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour
- A cleaner and greener place to live and visit, with more awareness of the environment
- Improving biodiversity and local wildlife
- New partnerships between ourselves as a council, local businesses and community groups
- More funding opportunities to support specific activities
- Higher volunteer numbers, enabling groups to have a bigger impact.
It doesn't matter how big the area you wish to improve is, or whether it is a green space or an urban setting, for example an alleyway.
