Alley gate keys for residents
Residents can now get keys for the alley gates. This helps to improve safety and cleanliness in the area.
Flytipping signage to keep our streets clean
Flytipping signs have been put up to help stop illegal dumping. These signs make our streets cleaner, greener, and safer.
Locations:
- Orme Close
- Hassop Close Green (outside on the corner)
- Albert Street (footpath by railway bridge)
- Blackrock Street
- Ellington Close
- Silfield Close
- Steadman Close
- Barbridge Close
- Attlee Way (footpath)
- Attlee Way/Viaduct Street (opposite Moore play area)
- Ashlar Drive
- Alderman Square (4 signs with poles, others on existing poles/columns)
Traffic calming measures
We are working on making roads safer with traffic-calming measures, including speed bumps and new road markings.
Scheduled projects:
- Bell Crescent
- Bosworth Street
- Malta Street
- Every Street
Project details:
- Approved and design work is in progress
- Construction will start in August 2025
- Expected completion: October 2025
Upcoming road safety projects
These projects will help improve road safety in your area. They are expected to be finished in the next 4 to 6 weeks.
- Complete: Pollard Street/Albion Lines: New "Keep Clear" road markings
- Complete: Cycle Rack Installation on Old Mill Street
- Traffic Calming Measures: Speed cushions and better road markings
- Road Sign Improvements: Refurbishing road name signs for better readability
We are also planning to renew the road markings on Councillor Street and Palmerston Street.
