Private hire vehicles taxi meters - request to become approved supplier

  1. Summary

    When a private hire vehicle is fitted with a taxi meter it must provide a validated certificate from an approved supplier when tested. To become an approved supplier you must complete a service level agreement and be approved by us.

  2. Fees

    There is no charge.

  3. Application and guidance notes

    PHV taximeter approved supplier

  4. Attachments required

    Any of the following: printed company literature; technical certificates; insurance certificates;copy of taxi meter test certificate or references

  5. Processing and timescales

    We aim to process your application within 10 working days. All attachments will be considered when evaluating the applicants ability to comply with the criteria required.  The applicant will have to opportunity to agree improvements if he can't meet the criteria.
