A665 Cheetham Hill Road from Lord Street to Elizabeth Street

  1. Improvement details

    • Add ‘AHEAD ONLY’ road markings on the southbound carriageway on Cheetham Hill Road on the approach to the junction with Elizabeth Street.
    • Remove right turn road marking on Cheetham Hill Road at junction with Elizabeth Street.
    • Add ’30 MPH’ roundels painted on both lanes of the carriageway on Cheetham Hill Road between its junctions with North Street and Broughton Street.
    • Permanently close Derby Street at its junction with Cheetham Hill Road but maintain access for people walking and cycling by installing bollards.
    • Install ‘NO THROUGH ROAD’ signs and ’No waiting’ and ‘No loading at any time’ road markings and signs around the closure.
    • Install ‘No through road for vehicular traffic’ signs at the other end of Derby Street, for traffic approaching from Stocks Street.
    • Move the bus parking bay currently on Derby Street onto Stocks Street, opposite number 40 and 42.
    • Change priority at the junction of Derby Street so that traffic on Derby Street gives way to traffic on Stocks Street.
    • Create uncontrolled pedestrian crossing (with tactile paving) across both sides of Knowsley Street at its junction with Cheetham Hill Road.
    • Create uncontrolled pedestrian crossing (with tactile paving) across Empire Street at its junction with Cheetham Hill Road.
    • Create uncontrolled pedestrian crossing (with tactile paving) across St Chad’s Street at its junction with Cheetham Hill Road.
    • Create uncontrolled pedestrian crossing (with tactile paving) across Chatley Street at its junction with Cheetham Hill Road.
    • Add ’30 MPH’ roundels painted on the road surface on both lanes northbound on Cheetham Hill Road, after its junction with Lord Street.
    • Replace missing road studs at crossing points on Cheetham Hill Road at its junction with Lord Street.
