A665 Cheetham Hill Road from Greenhill Road to Knightswood Road

  1. Improvement details

    • Ensure that existing ‘NO LOADING / NO WAITING AT ANY TIME’ signs on Cheetham Hill Road near the junction with Greenhill Road of are not hidden by other signs. 
    • Adding ‘GOODS VEHICLE LOADING’ signs on existing lamp column outside 384 Cheetham Hill Road to match existing signs.
    • Add 30MPH roundels painted on the road surface on all three lanes on Cheetham Hill Road north of the junction with Albyns Avenue. 
    • Install ‘NO LOADING AT ANY TIME’ signs on existing posts at the junctions of Cheetham Hill Road and Albyns Avenue and Esmond Road. 
    • Extend double yellow lines and ‘No loading at any time’ kerb markings on both sides of Esmond Road before its junction with Cheetham Hill Road.
    • Install tactile paving at either side of the crossing point on Albyns Avenue where it meets Cheetham Hill Road.
    • Reset existing ‘GIVE WAY’ and ‘NO THROUGH ROAD’ signs on Albyns Avenue, before the junction with Cheetham Hill Road.
    • Add a ‘NO LOADING AT ANY TIME’ sign on the south side of Albyns Avenue just before the junction with Cheetham Hill Road, on an existing lamp column.
    • Reset ‘END OF BUS LANE’ sign on Cheetham Hill Road south of the junction with Albyns Avenue and remove a redundant post on the footway. 
    • Reset ‘NO ENTRY’ sign and post at the junction of Cheetham Hill Road with Esmond Road. 
    • Trees to be cut back to avoid obscuring signs at the junction of Cheetham Hill Road and Beckenham Road.
    • Install tactile paving at either side of the crossing point on Beckenham Road where it meets Cheetham Hill Road and reset existing signs.
    • Existing ‘LOADING’ signs outside 364 and 461 Cheetham Hill Road to be reset.
    • Install a ‘NO LOADING’ sign with specified times and reset existing road hump sign and plate outside 358 Cheetham Hill Road.
    • Install tactile paving to create an uncontrolled crossing for pedestrians over the garage entrance and exit at 332 Cheetham Hill Road.
    • Build out the footway at the junction of Cheetham Hill Road with Heywood Street to narrow the carriageway and make crossing easier.
    • Add tactile paving at the junctions of Heywood Street with Cheetham Hill Road.
    • Extend double yellow lines on west side of Heywood Street and apply ‘NO LOADING AT ANY TIME’ markings around junction mouth.
    • Install tactile paving to create an uncontrolled crossing for pedestrians over the garage entrance and exit at 445 Cheetham Hill Road.
    • Add a ‘NO LOADING’ sign with specified times on the footway outside 2 Shirley Road, near the junction with Cheetham Hill Road.  
    • Install ‘NO LOADING AT ANY TIME’ signs to existing posts at either side of Knightswood Road, at its junction with Cheetham Hill Road.
    • Add double yellow lines to replace current timed ‘No waiting’ restrictions and apply ‘No loading at any time’ kerb markings around the junction mouth at the junction of Knightswood Road with Cheetham Hill Road and remove dropped kerb.
    • Install tactile paving to create an uncontrolled crossing for pedestrians across Knightswood Road at its junction with Cheetham Hill Road.
    • Add 30MPH roundels painted on the road surface on both lanes on Cheetham Hill Road south of the junction with Knightswood Road.
