    Lych Gate of oak on stone base with pitched, tiled roof.

    (On base) To the glory of god and in grateful remembrance of the men who, having gone at the call of duty from the parish of Burnage in the Great War 1914-1918, fought in defence of liberty and justice, and conquered, of whom 36 laid down their lives and whose names are recorded upon the tablet within the church. This lychgate was erected by Lieut. Col. T, Turnbull J.P. in the year of our lord 1919. W.H.Finney MA Rector. (On front) 1914 to the memory of the brave 1918
