Danforth Grove

The Council of the City of Manchester in exercise of its power under Section 129A (1) of the Highways Act 1980 ( "the Act") and of all other enabling powers being satisfied that the conditions set out in Section 129A (3) of the Act have been met hereby makes the following Order:

Except as provided in Article 2 of this Order no person shall use the public right of way over the alleyway ("the Highway") described in the Schedule to this Order at any time.

The restriction in Article 1 shall not apply to any person who lives in premises adjoining the Highway or to any police, ambulance or fire service personnel acting in pursuance of statutory powers or duties or to any statutory undertaker, gas, electricity, water or communications provider requiring access to their apparatus situated in the Highway.

Barriers may be installed, operated and maintained at each end of the Highways. Private Sector Housing, Central Operations Division is responsible for maintaining and operating any barriers. Their contact telephone number is 0161 234 4904.

The alternative routes for pedestrians and vehicles which are available for use during the period the Highways are restricted are Broom Lane, Marley Road, Danforth Grove, Cronshaw Street and alleyways located to the rear of 1007

Alleyway situated to the rear of 2-32 Marley Road, the rear of 1-19 Danforth Grove and the side of 21 Danforth Grove for the full length of 94 metres, and for the full width; Alleyway situated to the rear of 33-47 Broom Lane and 23-31 Danforth Grove for the full length of 37 metres, and for the full width; Alleyway situated to the side of 31 Danforth Grove and the side of 31 Broom Lane for the full length of 4 metres, and for the full width; Alleyway situated to the side of 24 Danforth Grove and the rear of 29-31 Broom Lane for the full length of 14 metres, and for the full width; Alleyway situated to the rear of 2-24 Danforth Grove and the rear of 3-23 Cronshaw Street continuing to the side of 29 Broom Lane for the full length of 69 metres, and for the full width.
