Oxford Dictionary of National Biography is an illustrated collection of 50,000 specially written biographies of the men and women who shaped all aspects of Britain's past, from the fourth century BC to the year 2000. Compiled over a twelve year period by some 10,000 experts, who have produced a 60 volume, 60 million word reference work, and a website of over 100,000 pages. The online edition is updated annually.
