The purpose of a Neighbourhood Development Framework (NDF) is to capture an area’s priorities in terms of development and to act as a guide, in any planning applications or for future development proposals.
Since our last consultation, we have been engaging with local community groups to further develop our ideas and these are now available to view online. Usually we would like to undertake an event face to face, however current guidelines due to Covid-19 make this challenging to undertake safely and therefore we have moved this round of engagement to online only.
The purpose of this online engagement will be to progress our thinking about the future of the Ardwick Green area and to see your views on our initial ideas, with a view to incorporating your valuable feedback into the production of the Draft NDF for the area.
The plan
This NDF spans the area bounded by the Wadeson Street, the Inner Ring Road (A635) and Dalberg Street, as shown in the consultation document.

Following this online consultation, we will continue to work on the Framework and will present a Draft NDF for Manchester City Council’s Executive for endorsement in the autumn of this year. This endorsement will initiate a formal public consultation on the Draft before a Final NDF document is then re-submitted for approval by the Council early in 2021.
After this, the aim is to ensure that this document and its principles are taken into account for development or similar activity that may take place in the area in the future.
